Gorgeous vintage 50 black devoré velvet dress and jacket set in a reptile (croc or alligator like) print. Sleeveless sheath dress with self-fabric rope belt. Cropped jacket with round self-fabric covered buttons. Talon zipper. No label.
Devoré (also called burnout) is a fabric technique particularly used on velvets, where the material undergoes a process to dissolve the cellulose fibers to create a semi-transparent pattern against more solidly woven fabric.

Vintage size 8 but vintage runs much smaller so please see measurements below for proper fit
