Instructions in this crochet bucket hat pattern are for these 8 sizes: Preemie/American Girl Doll, Newborn, 3-6 mos, 6-12 mos, 1-3 yrs, 3-10 yrs, Teen/Small Adult and Large Adult.

SUPPLIES YOU WILL NEED:
Worsted weight (4), I recommend Cotton yarn, but acrylic will work too. I used I Love This Cotton by Hobby Lobby, available for sale in 3.5 oz (99 g) skeins. You will use up to 1 skein for sizes Newborn to size Child, and more than 1 skein for sizes Teen/Small Adult and Large Adult.
5.00 mm (US H) crochet hook or other size needed to achieve gauge
Scissors
Stitch marker
Darning needle

SKILLS:
Advanced Beginner. You need to to know how to read written patterns in US terminology.
In my patterns, I give plenty of detailed instructions with step-by-step pictures when needed, and instructions about special stitches used (if any). However, this pattern does not contain instructions for basic stitches and techniques, so in order to complete this project, it is recommended that you have previous experience in the basic crochet stitches and techniques, such as: chain, single crochet in the round/in a spiral, single crochet increase, slip stitch, weaving in ends, fasten off. I DO NOT OFFER VIDEO TUTORIALS FOR MY PATTERNS.

This is my favorite summer hat, but it wasn't always that way. To begin with, I had to learn a new way to single crochet. I almost didn't even start the pattern, but I'm glad I did. It took a bit (I'm 75 years old) but persistence paid off. Love the new look! As I was crocheting the hat, I still wasn't feeling the love. I was sure I was doing something wrong, but I persisted. When I finished the hat and put it on my head, I fell in love with it. It is so comfortable to wear and looks great. I'm so thankful for this great pattern and my own persistence.
