• About Louis FERAUD •
French Fashion Designer and Artist (1920-1999)
After the war, where he was arrested by the gestapo from he escaped, Louis Féraud decided to change his life, and he left to Paris.
In 1947 Louis Féraud created his first "maison de couture boutique" in Cannes
in 1955 he had established a couture house in Paris 88, rue du Faubourg St Honoré.
From the mid 1950s he was dressing the parisian elite and designed the dress of Brigitte Bardot for many of her movies.
It wasn't however until 1958 that he presented his first "Haute Couture " collection Show in Paris. He also hired and formed the french designer J.L Scherrer.
It was a great cheerful success.
In 1970 he signed a contract with Fink (Germany) for a Ladies "prêt-à-Porter" (ready to wear) collection.
1978 he won the "Golden Thimble Award" (Dé d'or) for his Spring/Summer 1978 Haute Couture Collection
Adding to his growing collection of honours Louis Féraud was elected "Prince de l'Art de Vivre" in 1991.
In 1995 he was decorated Officier de la Légion d'honneur, by the French President
He died December 1999, aged 79.
