This is a print on paper with giclee inks. Title: Loons and Turtle, print, 8 W x 10 H inches. Signed on back. Canoeing is one of my favorite activities here on the chain of lakes in Minneapolis. There are loons and turtles swimming around throughout the warm months. I usually see loons on Bde Maka Ska, and the turtles on Lake of the Isles sunning themselves here and there. Loons are large water birds and their feet are in the back of their body. They carry their young on their backs soon after they're born to help the young regulate their temperature and stay warm. The underwater plants I see are mostly milfoil, so I took an abstract imaginative approach to these underwater plants. I love to make art about technology, but more and more am being drawn to representations of the natural world. We all need places where we can get away from the screens. Printed on Epson Velvet Fine Art paper
