18 inch doll dress pattern ~ Lettie's Button Wrap Dress PDF Sewing Pattern crafted for fitting 18 inch Dolls

This cute 18 inch dress PDF Sewing Pattern design is an inspiration from the 1930’s era of fashion. The pattern features a design with a faux wrap style bodice and skirt with petal sleeves.

There are two views that you can make for the skirt front. The first view A is with a two-part front skirt and the other View B is with three parts to the skirt front. View C is a sleeveless version of the dress with a contrast insert. There is also an option for a contrast front insert in the three-part skirt.

This dress can be made with different embellishment options: either with piping, rick rack, or without any embellishment for a more modern look. The piping can either be handmade (instructions included) or bought as pre-packaged. Handmade piping is less bulky for sewing doll clothes.

There are two 18 inch doll two sizes in this pattern as a doll's size can vary. For the larger size, omit the back dart. There are two lines for size designation on the back skirt D for the two sizes. See “Doll Model Size” section on page 2 to determine which size is best for your doll.

In addition, there are two options for finishing the back closure. The hook and loop closure are shown in the main View A instructions but I have also included a separate zipper instructional section.

Recommended Fabrics:

• ½ yard of lightweight woven cotton or cotton blend fabrics such as, poplin, gingham, chambray, broadcloth and seersucker 44/45 inches wide - (all views)
• 8” x 8” scrap fabric in alternate color - View B or C
• Fat quarter or ¼ yard 44/45 inch wide of contrast fabric for cutting bias strips (for handmade piping) Views A & B
• Lining 1/6 yard of cotton batiste or other lightweight woven – View C
• Fusible interfacing – Pellon 281™ or Pellon EK130™

• Five ¼ inch (6 to 7 mm) Buttons
• Prepackaged trim of choice (rick rack or piping) in contrast color of choice (optional)
• 3 snap sets
