Listed for your consideration is a beautiful vase designed by Franz Welz. Bright and vibrant yellow with applied trailing around the vase and on the lip. When you look at the scalloped top from above it looks like a flower.
This beautiful vase has two layered glass, yellow inside with a clear outside.
Known as "mono-colored" or " Tango" glass. This technique was developed around 1914.
Franz Welz was most noted for a wide range of colorful artistic glassware produced during the 1920's and 1930's.
Typical acid-stamped authentic ca. 1918-1938. It is not uncommon for the word Czechoslovakia to appear on two lines, which it does on this vase.
Very good vintage condition, no chips or cracks but there is a small air bubble near bottom, please see picture #2. This is a flaw in the process of making this piece but does not distract from it's beauty.
