This completely 3D guillotine pendant is made of solid jewelers bronze, dark oxidized then hand burnished to enhance all the little details like the pronounced grain in the wooden frame and stocks, the twisted braid in the release rope latched on the side and even the tiny rivet heads that secure that wicked looking blade into the supporting cross-beam. If you want, you could spice it up even more by adding a touch of blood red nail polish to the edge of the blade. This little beauty measures 2" long by 1-1/8" wide.

The guillotine is noted for long being the main method of execution in France and, more particularly, for its use during the French Revolution, when it "became a part of popular culture, celebrated as the people's avenger by supporters of the Revolution and vilified as the pre-eminent symbol of the Reign of Terror by opponents." In spite of being primarily associated with the French Revolution, the guillotine continued to be used long after in several countries, including France, where it was the sole method of execution until tits abolition in 1841.

The entirety of this shop is amazing. First off - the packaging. SO. DECADENT. seriously, the mailing envelope alone is so luxurious and pretty I don’t think I can throw it away in good conscious. The box and stationary, A+. Even the foam the necklace is held with is super velvety soft and luxurious. I’ve never felt anything like it. And obviously the necklace itself... stunning. Gorgeous. even better than the picture! It feels heavy (in a luxe way not a bad way), and is a great quality material. I can’t wait to make this my new everyday staple piece!
