What should I do if my package is lost, delayed, damaged, stolen, or marked delivered but not received?

Once USPS accepts your order, they are responsible for handling & delivery. If delayed, missing, stolen, or marked delivered but not received, please monitor your tracking & contact your local post office first. USPS may be able to locate the package or assist with a claim. For eligible shipments, USPS allows claims for lost or damaged packages; filing timeframes vary by service: usps.com/help/claims.htm If your order arrives damaged, contact Modern Magix immediately with photos of the damaged item, box, label, & packaging. Please retain all packaging until the issue is resolved. Modern Magix is not responsible for packages lost, stolen, or misdelivered after USPS accepts them.

Custom and personalized orders

Yes! Modern Magix works with retailers, subscription boxes, and other businesses interested in carrying our products. Wholesale, custom products, and exclusive scents or designs are available on a case-by-case basis. For inquiries, email Cedar at cedar@modernmagix.com with what you're looking for, desired quantity, and timeline. Custom orders may require minimum quantities and additional production time. Custom candles have additional limitations because fragrance/color combinations require wick testing. Please contact me before ordering to discuss what's possible.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes! Modern Magix ships internationally when USPS service is available for your destination. International shipping can be significantly more expensive due to postage rates, distance, package size, and customs requirements. I charge only what USPS charges me, I do not add additional international shipping fees. Customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, or import fees charged by their country. International delivery times can also vary significantly and are outside my control once the package enters the postal system.

What materials are used in your soy candles, and do you use essential oils?

Our soy candles, and wax melts are made with vegan, soy-based wax. They are scented with fragrance oils selected from suppliers that provide ingredient and safety information. Some fragrance formulations may contain essential oils, but our candles are not made with 100% pure essential oils. Our candles use lead-free cotton wicks. Soy candles are topped with dried herbs and botanicals unless otherwise specified. Larger soy candles include gemstones. Wax melts and tealights do not contain gemstones.

What materials are used in your beeswax candles?

Our beeswax candles are made from 100% USA-sourced beeswax from ethical suppliers and use 100% cotton wicks. They have a naturally occurring, subtle honey-like scent and contain no added fragrance oils. Our Intention Chime Candles contain ground herbs rolled into the candle. Because beeswax is an animal-derived material, these candles are not vegan.

What are your incense cones made from, and how do I burn them?

Our incense cones are made with charcoal powder produced from acacia wood and leaves, along with fragrance and binding ingredients. To burn a cone, place it on a heat-safe holder away from flammable materials. Hold a flame to the tip until it is visibly glowing, then gently blow out the flame. The cone should continue to smolder. Burn incense in a well-ventilated area and never leave it unattended. If a cone repeatedly will not stay lit, contact me with your order information so I can help troubleshoot.

Why does my candle look different from the photos?

Modern Magix candles are handmade in small batches, so slight variations in color, texture, herb placement, gemstones, and finish are normal. Soy wax may also develop frosting, which can appear as a cloudy or crystalline coating. This is a natural characteristic of soy wax and does not affect how your candle burns. Because each candle is individually poured and finished by hand, yours may not look exactly like the one pictured. Handmade variation is part of what makes each candle unique!

Are Modern Magix products vegan and cruelty-free?

Most Modern Magix products are vegan, but our beeswax candles are not. Our beeswax is sourced from ethical USA suppliers. We do not test our products on animals. Product listings identify beeswax or other animal-derived materials when applicable. If you have a specific ingredient concern, please contact me before purchasing. I'll be happy to help with available product information, but ingredient formulations can vary by product.

Are your candles and incense safe to use around pets?

Candles and incense should always be used with care around pets. Never leave a burning candle or incense unattended, and keep them well out of reach of animals who could knock them over, touch hot wax, or otherwise disturb them. Pets can have individual sensitivities to fragrance and smoke. If your pet has respiratory issues, fragrance sensitivities, or reacts poorly to scented products, consult your veterinarian before using candles or incense around them. When in doubt, extinguish the flame and prioritize your pet's safety.

For the first burn, allow the wax to melt nearly to the edges of the container to help prevent tunneling. Trim the wick to about 1/4 inch before each burn, and never burn a candle unattended or near flammable materials. Keep candles away from drafts, children, and pets. Do not move a candle while the wax is hot, and discontinue use when about 1/2 inch of wax remains in a container candle. Herbs, botanicals, and gemstones are decorative additions; keep the wick clear of excess material while burning. Follow any additional care instructions included with your order.

Listing is for one (1) 16-oz soy candle. We recommend that you remove the stone before lighting to ensure a more even burn.

Please allow the candle to melt completely across during the first lighting to prevent tunneling. We recommend you remove the quartz to ensure even burning.

Burning instructions: Remove the top from the candle and place it on a level, heat-resistant surface. Keep wick trimmed to 1/4" and light at the base of the wick. When lighting for the first time, allow the candle to melt across the top completely before extinguishing to ensure an even burn. Watch carefully as herbs may catch fire and cause the candle to burn unpredictably (generally we recommend that you blow out the candle if the herbs catch fire and then relight again). Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time. When there is only 1/4" of wax remaining, extinguish the flame, allow the wax to harden, and discard the remaining wax. Do not touch the metal (it gets very hot!) or attempt to move the candle while it is lit. Do not leave unattended, do not burn near children pets, or anything flammable.
