This pattern is a faithful reproduction of a classic school sampler stitched in 1859 by Mary Ann Batty. The sampler is stitched on linen in green, blue and beige, very faded it has some holes and rust stains.
School samplers are rarely perfect and as expected little Mary did not always stitch over two threads, this meant that not all the stitches aligned and this was taken into consideration when charting the reproduction.
Design Area: 108 x 66 stitches
If stitched on 28 ct linen/ 14 ct aida the pattern will measure :
7,71" x 4,71" / 19,5 x 12 cm
