Set of 4 bias tape makers. Easy way to make DIY bias binding tape out of any fabric. Bias binding is great for edging all kinds of sewing projects, including home-made face masks.

Here are the basic instructions to make fabric tape:

1. Decide what kind of tape you want:
- bias tape is stretchy so its great for edging curved edges and corners
- straight grain is not stretchy so can be good for edging things that are stretchy or cut on the bias, to help give stability
- cross grain has a bit more stretch in it than straight grain but is closer to straight grain than bias tape

2. Select what finished size you want (6mm, 12mm, 18mm or 25mm): you will need to cut a strip of fabric twice as wide (so if you want 12mm finished width, cut a strip of fabric 24mm wide)

3. Cut your strip of fabric depending on the type of tape you want:
- bias tape is cut at a 45 degree angle to the selvage (factory edges)
- straight grain is cut parallel to the selvage
- cross grain is cut at a right angle to the selvage (i.e. from one selvage edge to the other)

4. Cut one end of your fabric strip at 45 degree diagonal angle so it's easier to feed into the tool

5. Feed the end into the wider part of the tape maker tool (use a needle or awl to push it through), then use the metal loop to pull the tool along the fabric strip and it will come out the narrower end, with double folds. It's a good idea to do this at your ironing board, so you can iron the folded tape as it comes through.
