this collar is absolutely adorable but also absolutely not safe for small cats. my cat has gotten it caught in his mouth twice, and the safety latch has been too difficult for him to pop free of. I will not put it back on him because I don't want him to die.

We're sorry to hear that the collar didn't work out and wish the the buyer had contacted us so we could been of assistance. Our breakaway buckle on each collar is tested before being sent out to our customers. The breakaway mechanism will come apart upon pressure, for example, if the collar gets caught when the cat is climbing, the weight of the cat and gravity will pull the buckle apart to set him free, or if the cat uses the paw to try to swat it off the neck. However the buckle will not come apart if no pressure is asserted onto it. It seems like the collar wasn't fitted properly, or fitted too loosely on the cat that he can get the mouth into. We recommend that the collar is adjusted to fit properly around the neck to ensure the cat's comfort and to allow the hardware to function as intended.
