This is a unique & wonderful, vintage (quite old, but exact age unknown), Asian, cutout, rice-paper, collage picture. I am not sure if this piece is Chinese or Japanese. It is an unsigned picture framed in a wood frame without glass and measures .5 x 17.5 x 21.5 inches in size. Unfortunately the glass broke and I had to take the picture apart to remove the broken glass. The statement, paper cutout in the middle is comprised of a large 22Kt gold square and small medallions on rice paper. There are 4 rice-paper panels around the border featuring pink, lotus flowers & green leaves, some in vases & some not. They are accented with 22Kt gold & green around their border. All of these pierced cutouts are lightly attached to an embossed, black cardboard. A real beauty. The collage and all its pieces are in excellent condition. The brownish-black frame which needs glass is aged and worn with dings, dangs, dents, scratches and mitered corners which need fixing. You might even consider framing it in a more appropriate frame. Although I take that back because they always say never change the frame on an antique picture. Your decision. I will include the ripped paper backing. Please be sure before purchasing as this item is NOT returnable. A signature will be required upon delivery.
