NOT A REPRODUCTION PRINT BUT A TOTALLY original vintage/antique lithograph print of a Flower Fairy - Cotton Grass - by the illustrator Cicely Mary Barker. She was well known for her fantasy illustrations of flowers and fairies.

This print is in very good pre-loved condition and being pre-loved and 80years old, there may be the very occasional minor blemish. The colours have retained their original depth.

All you will need to get is a simple frame as for your convenience, the print has been professionally matted/mounted in a conservation grade, Daler Rowney cream mount. The mount has a white core and offers a clean crisp bevel cut which enhances this beautiful print.

The mounted print, which is 8" by 10" (the aperture is 3.3" by 4.8") and ready to put straight into a standard size frame, will arrive in a clear cellophane packet and would make an ideal gift for a birthday for adults or children alike, or for an infant's nursery.

Cicely Mary Barker was equally proficient in watercolour, pen and ink, oils, and pastels. Kate Greenaway and the Pre-Raphaelites were the main influences on her work. She claimed to paint instinctively and rejected artistic theories. Barker died in 1973. Though she published Flower Fairy books with spring, summer, and autumn themes, it wasn't until 1985 that a winter collection was assembled from her remaining work and published posthumously.
