Highlights
These came from a fabulous estate in New York City! They really are some of the most amazing Victorian Earrings I've some across. They remind me of miniature frames with the Oval Shadowbox Style Setting and Tiered Framework surrounding the stones. Stunning pair of Antique Victorian combination 18kt and 14kt Gold Fringe Earrings. A three-part construction allows them to have lots of movement while they dangle. Each earring has a center oval shadowbox style base with a raised oval in the center of the tier. The ovals are surrounded by dainty rope detailing and 2 more tiers of textured "wreaths" with a raised leaf at the top. In the center of each earring are 4 bezel set stones with little prongs. Three fringe dangles hang from the base below a domed ball. Earrings are unmarked but test positive for 14 kt. Length from top of wire to base of fringe is just a little over 2.25 inches long. Width at widest point is about 0.75 inches. Total weight is 6 grams or 3 grams per earring. Ear wires are not original to these earrings but were replaced with 18kt gold hooks and match very well. The 18kt gold french hooks are sturdy and you don't have to worry about them breaking like fragile Victorian hooks.
These Earrings are incredibly special and command subtle attention. They still have a beautiful patina on them.
