This listing is for 1 whole spool of this rare antique 1890's French real metal gold thread. Used for embroidery, fly lure tying, fishing rod wrapping and more. Hand use only - do not try to use this in a machine.

I was able to research this thread manufacture date back to 1894. Made in France. Each spool has approximately 50 yards on it. Most are sealed in plastic bags, only a few are not new/sealed. I have others in a thinner thread in yellow gold, gold and silver. This "thread" is really called tinsel and mostly used for fly tying.

Each spool weighs about 36 grams or 1.2 ounces. I also have it in smaller lengths wound onto a card board bobbin
