"Some of the beetles that I ordered are so beautiful! But out of 11 specimens (one extra, which was kind), I only received 6 species and would have preferred a little more variety. One jewel beetle had mold, which happens at times with insect specimens but was a bit disappointing to receive nonetheless. Another specimen, unknown type but looks like a small brown scarab or flower beetle, looked worse for wear as well. I was surprised to open up the package and see that the bubble wrap containing the beetles was not taped shut so the specimens were loose in the box. Despite that, there were somehow no broken legs or antennae, which was great, but overall I just wish more care was put into my order."

"Really good specimens, and often times you get more than you pay for, but you will sometimes get multiples of one type of insect in a pack. Great specimens, but just know you don’t always get 10 different insects in a pack."

"I needed these insect examples for teaching a unit on insects and their habitats for my second graders. They are a little squeamish about bugs, but there is a lot of academic vocabulary (like "exoskeleton" and "thorax") that is difficult to really comprehend through just pictures. This sample box was PERFECT for helping them understand the vocabulary better and the overall idea of diversity within the animal kingdom.
