"This was not an easy job, but the stencil made it doable. It’s good, sturdy plastic, didn’t have any trouble with it tearing or bending, even when shoving it into corners. It was too sturdy to get around things like the plumbing, so I just saved that part to the end and cut it into smaller pieces to make it easier to fit in. The pattern is very forgiving, I used a level on the first one and then never bothered again. Even where it was hard to match the edges up because of corners, you can’t tell at all.
I used Rub’n’Buff to get the gold filigree look and it worked SO well. It’s very thick, so it didn’t run at all. (Honestly not sure how regular paint would have worked with my orange peel texture walls.) But that means I couldn’t roll it on, so it took 20+ hours for a small powder room. Can’t imagine doing it in a large room."
