In 2015, I traveled to the Brazilian Amazon rainforest to research the impact of dams on river ecosystems and species. This scene is from many hours spent traveling the waterways with scientists and local fishermen.
Titled "Jaguar Land," this is an original oil painting on drafting film (often called mylar), with an image size that measures 7 7/8”H x 9 6/8” W. The material is a polyester film that has a semi-transluscent, matte surface. It allows for a “glowing” quality of the paint, an effect that can’t quite be replicated on canvas or wood panel.
The mylar is thin and very similar to a sheet of paper (but it’s polyester rather than paper pulp, and this is a painting rather than a drawing ;).
As shown in the photos:
1. Image dimensions of 7 7/8”H x 9 6/8” W.
2. The painting is surrounded by several inches of blank mylar on all 4 sides.
3. The best way to display this is in a mat and frame. Video shows a sample mylar painting placed in a mat. I recommend finding a local framing shop, as they can custom-cut a mat and help with framing options.
Painting is signed by the artist, packaged carefully and shipped in a sturdy, bend-proof cardboard mailer. Ships from the San Francisco Bay Area via USPS priority mail. (Sorry, only shipping to US destinations at this time).
