The 'Costoluto Genovese' tomato is a classic beefsteak tomato in every sense: large, aromatic, fruity in taste and heavily ribbed.
They are very high yielding variety that produces reliable crops of large red beefsteak tomatoes throughout the whole season. They are very sweet, meaty, juicy, and flavorful. Perfect for salads, slicing, sandwiches, fresh eating and making sauces.

INDETERMINATE; Caging or Staking and mulching are highly recommended.
Harvest 85 days from seeding, continuing on prolifically until the first frost


Start seeds indoors 2 weeks before the last frost date or outdoors after all dangers of frost have passed.
Fill the container or seed tray/cell with seed starting/ potting mix.
Fill each tray/pot loosely, then gently tap the tray/pot to remove any air pockets.
You want the soil to fill in the cells without becoming compacted.
Loose soil will allow your plants’ roots to spread out nicely, but compacted soil will not.
Gently smooth the surface of the soil to make it level.
Water the soil thoroughly but not waterlogged and let the water settle.
You want to water the soil before the seeds, to prevent the seeds from being displaced or bury too deep.

Sow two seeds in each pot/cell, place one seed on the surface of the soil, and repeat with the others, spacing them out an equal distance from each other.
Cover with a ¼-inch layer of soil mix, and then compress the soil with your fingers.
Water the seeds with a spray bottle, spraying until the top soil is moist.
Place it in a warm location.
Check the pots/trays once a day, and water with your spray bottle when the surface of the soil is dry.
Water as needed depending on the season and growing condition.
Please do not allow your seeds to sit in soggy/wet soil, because the seeds will rot and never germinate.
Seeds just need to be moist.
Remember, indoor water needs are different from outdoor water needs, that is why seeds need to be watered as needed, not on schedule.
Seeds will germinate in 7 to 10 days.
Please, if starting indoors keep in an area where they get light like close to the window that allows most light in the house.
Please, if you started the seedlings indoors, the seeds must be hardened off before transplanting outdoors.
Please, make sure all dangers of frost have passed before transplanting outdoors in spring/summer.
They need a rich normal well-draining soil and these in particular like watering at least 2 times per week and maybe more as the plant grows larger and produces more fruits.
When planting these and all other tomatoes, plant to a soil depth just beneath the first and second set of leaves.
Roots will form along the buried stem, establishing a stronger root, thus a stronger plant.
Don't water too late in the evening. You want the plants to dry thoroughly before night. Too many problems with fungus start when you continuously water tomatoes late in the evening.
