Failure to complete payments as agreed may result in cancellation, forfeiture of payments made, and/or relisting of the item, as permitted by law.

Can you put it on hold?

Items may be placed on hold for a defined and limited period of time, at the sole discretion of DC Silver. Hold duration and terms must be agreed to in advance. Items not purchased within the agreed hold period may be released and made available for sale without further notice.

Offers may be submitted at the buyer’s discretion. Submission of an offer does not create a contract or obligation to sell. DC Silver reserves the right to accept, reject, or ignore any offer for any reason.

How do you date your items

All date estimates are opinions only, based on available comparative sales (“comps”), reference materials, industry forums, and professional experience. Dates are not guarantees and should be understood as approximations.

Why won't you fulfill my order?

DC Silver reserves the right to refuse service or cancel any order, including but not limited to circumstances involving pricing errors, fluctuations in precious-metal markets, inventory discrepancies, or item availability. If an order is canceled prior to shipment, any payments received will be refunded.

I want to return an item. Can I have a full refund?

Returns are accepted subject to the terms below: Buyer must notify DC Silver within 7 calendar days of delivery Returned items must be received within 14 calendar days of delivery Items returned outside these timeframes will not be accepted Shipping costs are non-refundable Items that have been discounted, placed on sale, or reviewed are final sale and not eligible for return Returned items must be in the same condition as received No partial refunds are issued.

Now that I received my item, will you refund part of the price?

DC Silver does not offer post-purchase price adjustments or partial refunds under any circumstances. Items are eligible only for return under the full refund policy above.

All items are researched and represented in good faith. However, due to the nature of antiques and collectibles, errors in attribution or authenticity may occur. Buyers may return items for any reason within 14 calendar days of receipt. After the 14-day return period, all sales are final, and DC Silver assumes no further liability related to authenticity, attribution, or description, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Unclaimed / Returned Items?

If an item is returned to DC Silver as unclaimed, undeliverable, or “return to sender,” the buyer will be notified and given the opportunity to arrange reshipment at their expense. If no response is received within 60 calendar days of notification, the item will be considered abandoned property and may be resold. No refund will be issued for abandoned items.

Outstanding example of the fine silversmithing of Hester Bateman. This large scale (11.75") stuffing spoon is hand forged from a heavy gauge of silver with a traditional old English profile. Personalized with a crest with a coronet impaled upon a ducal crown. This is believed to be one of the Dukes of Cavendish. The hallmarks are present for London, sterling, and HB with a smudgy edge. Date mark is rubbed, but falls 1774-82 based on the version of the HB mark used. Overall condition is good with wear to engravings and marks.
