This is a lovely rich darker purple colour so it will tone well with not only purples but deeper shades of grey, blue, black and red.

Long - hair below shoulder length
Mid-length - shoulder length hair
Short - bob/above the shoulder hair

I do make some cotton ones but mainly they're super-durable acrylic yarn so they can be flung in the washing machine or hand wash it in the sink if you prefer. If you're a flinging in the machine girl I'd use one of those net bags just to be on the safe side.
