This boot is named "De laarzen van St. Ulrich en Afra" and published in "Werner, Joachim und Aladár Radnoti: Die Ausgrabungen in St. Ulrich und Afra in Augsburg 1961–1968.
There is another find which is to find at Musée d’Archéologie Nationale de Saint Germain en Lay.
It is described the find which is at Musée d’Archéologie Nationale de Saint Germain en Lay is "low shoe, raised by leather strips" - so like the leather is raised from the shoe up the leg like leg wraps.
Where the high model, which I have made here, is a boot held up the leg with the leather strips.
Merovingian Period. (Year 500-712)
This is 100% my idea that the boot was made like this from watching the pictures and a fact that there were found 2 layers of leather on the boot.
The boot is supported in the heels with an extra layer of leather, on the inside.
The boots will be made on order and from any customers form of feet.
