Look carefully...sea life abounds in these sparkly, colorful waves! I created tiny starfish, pink scallops, fish with coppery tails, and even a squid and a sea urchin to frolic in the beaded waves! Kind of like a mosaic, with tiny bits of color culminating into a larger, lively movement. I made this necklace as an entry for the Jan. \/ Feb. Etsy beadweavers' challenge, titled "Tropical Holiday." When I think of a tropical holiday, drinks with little umbrellas, cocoa-nutty sun lotion, and glittery warm sand are part of the picture... but the real magic takes place in the sea. The colors in the shells and fish and coral that nature concocts are a wonder to behold! They are nature's jewels. Once I started beading all the sea critters, I actually giggled aloud! I hope you find delight in my homage to the beautiful sea!
