About the maker: These eco-friendly and zero waste bags are carefully handcrafted and ethically manufactured by the disadvantaged communities in rural India. The proceeds from these bags goes towards uplifting their economic living conditions.

The women community who make these bags are rural self-help women cooperatives belonging to the Southern parts of India. They were primarily formed due to the changing nature of agriculture and with unpredictable rain decreased their seasonal jobs. The women from these communities were struggling to make ends meet always burdened with debt, domestic violence and economic inflation. With Pure Mitti's help they are able to sustain a reasonably good living.
