All seeds vary on how long it takes for them to sprout. We recommend you always do your own research before purchasing the seeds to know what to expect when purchasing rare seeds :)

How do I grow my seeds?

There a lot of different techniques used for each seed and there is no one way. We will include basic instruction with your packet of seeds that you order but outside of that the more you research and learn on your own the better experience you will have. We have hundreds of seeds and its almost impossible to know everything about each one :)

Are these seeds poisonous?

SOME seeds may cause a harmful effect so please please please do research before bringing seeds into your environment around pets and kids. We are in no place to give medical advice.

Will this seed grow here?

Almost all seeds besides most annuals have a specific zone they can grow naturally in. This zone is called a hardiness zone. Look up your hardiness zone based on your postal code to find out what your zone is. Once you obtain that number you can search for seeds appropriately :) For example "Purple flower hardiness zone 9"

Seeds from Darlingtonia californica is a perennial Carnivorous or Insectivorous in the Sarraceniaceae family. A native to Northern California and Oregon. Some familiar names are the California pitcher plant, cobra lily, and cobra plant. This genus Darlingtonia is the only member of the Sarraceniaceae Family. It grows in seeps with running water that is cold or in bogs as well. The tubular leaves look like cobras, ranging in colors from yellow to purple-green. The tongue is the forked leaf that resembles a serpent's tongue. Flies fly in but don't fly out. They will be trapped by the upper part of the leaf designed to trap insects where the insect's sugary glands can't resist. Grows best in full sun. Zones 7-10

Germination

Mix seeds and moistened soil together in a ziplock bag. Write the name on the bag. Place in the refrigerator for 30 days. Sow seeds on top of well-drained sandy compost soil. Do not cover seeds with soil. Place the seed tray in bright light and keep it moist. Cover your pot with plastic to create a humid environment. Leave a small hole for fresh air. Seeds sprout within 1-3 months.
