Ever since I was a little girl I have loved history, especially ancient history and it didn't take me long to figure out that I wanted to be an archaeologist. I studied anthropology in undergrad, focusing on both cultural anthropology and archaeology. I had the pleasure of growing up in a suburb of Buffalo,NY where the winter sky is grey and the ground is icy, but the summer sky is a baby blue and the grass is a luscious green. I had the opportunity to move to Phoenix, AZ , the Valley of the Sun, and dig in its sandy deserts looking for traces of its prehistoric past. I met my husband on a dig almost 8 years ago and even though we are not practicing archaeologists anymore we still love to explore ruins in our free time. I have been exploring with creativity my whole life, whether it was making birthday cards as a young girl or scrapbooking during my teenage years. I started making jewelry over 12 years ago when a girlfriend of mine brought her beads on a camping trip. I got hooked and from that day forward I have been collecting beads. I am attracted to all the different colors, materials and shapes and I love sorting them into their respective compartments. Sometimes, I even get around to making a piece or two. I would like to thank my mother for buying me my first round of beads 12 or so years ago and for selling some of my early pieces in her boutique. I would also like to thank my husband for providing me with encouragement and putting up with my abundance of beads and findings.
