Daneen Augello’s love of art & color began with her first box of Crayola Crayons. Her vision continued to grow with her first camera at age 6. Photography became her childhood passion which followed her to college. In the winter of 2000, while pursuing her undergraduate Fine Art Art Photography degree, Daneen’s life changed when she stumbled onto glass. Acting on a friend’s referral, she applied for a job at a glass studio & seized the opportunity to learn a new art form. She began an apprenticeship which lasted over 2 years. Daneen learned both the classic & contemporary techniques of lampworking. She became fascinated with Borosilicate glass’s ability to magnify & distort shape & color, absorb & reflect light, & create seemingly vast depth & dimension within a very small space. Daneen realized these properties make glass an amazing medium for creating jewelry & began building a studio in NJ. It was then that daa glass was born.
d.a.a. simply stands for Daneen Ann Augello. The unexpected pronunciation of day-uh is in honor of her Italian-American grandmother, Dea. Her colorful & quirky personality, unmatched beauty, & kind-hearted, loving nature inspire daa glass’s unique yet wearable designs. She had a beautiful inner glow that Daneen now recognizes in all women. Glass also emits an extraordinary glow when put in the flame. This radiance & warmth lives within each piece of daa glass. Characterized by lush color combinations & whimsical design, daa glass creates alluring & captivating jewelry for women of all ages.
