My work focuses exclusively on chainmaille because it not only produces a brilliant finished product, but also carries with it a sense of history.
Known as one of mankind’s longest used forms of protection, chainmaille was first used as armor in the Roman era. It continues to be used today for a variety of purposes including, of course, jewelry.
I primarily use sterling silver rings to create weaves from the European family of chain weaves. Color is brought into some creations through the use of rose gold-filled rings or beads. Each finished pieces is tumble polished for lasting enjoyment.
I began making chainmaille jewelry in 2006 and was jury selected for membership in the Illinois Artisans Program.
