Clay artist Tammy Judd Jenny was raised in Alaska – Homer and Anchorage respectively. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Alaska Anchorage in 2001. Her solo thesis exhibition of sculptural ceramics was held in UAA’s Kimura Gallery in 2001. She displayed work in numerous group shows including the Anchorage Museum of History and Art’s 2002 “All Alaska Juried Art Exhibition” and its 2003 “Earth, Fire and Fibre.” That year, Tammy also participated in a collaborative art piece for the first “Wild Salmon on Parade” show. In 2004, her work was seen at Studio 68 and at the Whale’s Tail in the Hotel Captain Cook. For several years she was a participating artist in the Anchorage Clay Arts Guild annual fall sale.

From 2009 through 2011, Tammy was one of three original founding partners in Artmosphere Studio in Anchorage, a shared working artists’ studio. Artmosphere Studio artists held regular open studio shows, in which Tammy exhibited her art work.

In 2010, Tammy moved to Dillingham for a job. While there her work was displayed in a group art show at the Dillingham Museum (2010).

In March 2011, Tammy relocated to Southeast Alaska, first living in Petersburg, and now in Sitka.

In Petersburg, her work was included in the 2012 Mayfest community art show and the 2013 Tongass Rainforest Festival group art show, both held at the Clausen Museum. Tammy also participated in summer markets, holiday craft sales, and her own studio First Friday events.

Tammy’s artwork is created at Whippoorwheel Studio, now located in Sitka.

Her work can be seen at Island Artist Gallery on Lincoln Street in downtown Sitka.

When Tammy is not working with clay, she enjoys exploring graphic design, taking digital photographs, drawing, painting with watercolors and acrylics, stamping, and she dabbles in printmaking.
