My story began in or around 2002 when I joined the direct sales world, selling jewelry. I hated sales and was terrible at public speaking, ...regardless of the fact that I am probably one of the loudest, goofiest, and least shy people you might ever meet! After several years, lots of begging, and constantly feeling like I was ripping people off, I found a different direct sales business, ...vinyl lettering! I fell in love with the product and its endless possibilities, and eventually switched from jewelry to vinyl, continuing my ventures in direct sales until late 2015. Back up a teeny tiny bit... For Christmas, 2014, I bought myself a Silhouette brand vinyl cutting machine with the intention of supplementing my direct sales business, cutting vinyl for smaller projects that my direct sales company could not do. It stayed in the box (due to extreme intimidation) until February, when I forced myself to attend a beginners' class with some friends. Since then, I have not turned back once. I quickly discovered that not only could I supplement my direct sales business, but I could do nearly everything with my little machine that the direct sales company could do with their big ones! ...and charge less. ...and provide a quicker turnaround. ...and make more money doing it. The choice was clear. I "retired" from direct sales in November 2015, and have been cutting my own vinyl and making my own projects ever since, with no end in sight!
I never ever ever (did I say EVER?!) considered myself creative. My mom was creative. She painted and crafted and gift-wrapped, as I just watched and wondered in awe... She would be so proud of me right now, and probably really surprised! LOL. Ironically enough, she died the very month I discovered the world of vinyl and switched DS companies. Thank you for your gifts, Mom! I love you and miss you!
