In memory of my parents
My parents, Betty and Vernon, owned a Quilt Shop in Oregon for many years, called StoryQuilts.com. The name came from the block-of-the month kits that they sold which came with a chapter to a story with each block. They created patterns for lots of different quilts. Some quilts were created by my mom and others were created by artists that worked with her. Once the quilts were made, my dad would photograph them. My sister and others would write out the instructions for the pattern. They were then published and sold at the store and through the mail. They had quilt classes at the shop and their customers were like family to them. The quilt business and some of the friends made through the store were a big part of the best years of their lives. In 2006, they closed the brick-and-mortar quilt store and moved to Texas to be closer to their grandchildren. They continued their business online and their newsletter to their customers. In 2015, they sold the business and my mother and I opened her Etsy shop to sell all off the original quilts that were used as covers for the quilt patterns. My father passed away shortly after they sold the business, and my mother passed away in 2025. I am continuing to offer the original quilts on Etsy to honor them and their love of quilting. I have many, many more quilts to photograph and post. I will continue to do so a little at a time. I hope that you love all of the quilts as much as we have.
Thank you,
Stacy
