BeadDweeb, Colorful Basics
Beads from around the world! I love to knot them, weave them and combine them, and have been displaying my creations in my Etsy shop since 2011. Sometimes I've even dreamt about cascades of beads in all their bright colors.
Then came the oven towel dresses a few years ago, made one for my house and decided to make a few more for my Etsy shop and for craft shows. At a craft show, I was asked if I made nylon scrubbies. I do now, more bright colors. And why not potholders and dishcloths to develop the theme of practical and colorful a little more?
So here I am with jewelry and kitchen gift items, lots more to talk about with visitors to my booth, and lots more to offer in my Etsy shop. Just recently, I've added "Game Night" to the craft shows: coasters, and playing card holders designed to hold cards easily (with or without arthritis--I'm of a certain age now myself).
In the 1990s, beads became an obsession and I am grateful to The Bead Merchant in Tulsa, to members of the Intertribal Indian Club of Tulsa and, more recently, to the makers of YouTube videos for teaching me about beads, beading, crocheting and the business aspects around the edges of selling my work.
Special thanks to my husband Tom, my cousin Ellie, and to family, friends and customers with whom I share delight in a colorful life.
