Veo posibilidades creativas en todo lo que me rodea. Siempre me pregunto "¿Cómo puedo usar ese artículo de otra manera"?
Después de hacer algo, me pregunto "¿Cómo puedo cambiarlo y hacerlo diferente"? Mi hija (sí, esa es ella y mi mamá en la foto de allí ...) de todos modos, recientemente me dijo que estaba contenta de ser creativa, pero realmente feliz de no haber sido impulsada a crear, como soy yo.
Cuando me instalé en Etsy (marzo de 2008), NO tenía ni idea de lo que estaba haciendo, aparte de que mi instinto me decía que necesitaba encontrar una audiencia más grande para mi trabajo y productos.
Serendipity me sonrió en abril cuando tuve mi primera venta: un bolso vintage (Thank You Canada) (vea mi página Acerca de mi tienda vintage: MissingHeirloom para una foto), Y Lark Books se puso en contacto conmigo. Fui lo suficientemente inteligente como para enumerar mi línea de tarjetas de sobres reciclados en el Día de la Tierra y uno de sus editores se puso en contacto conmigo. ¿Haría un 'Cómo' para su libro "Empujando el sobre"? No es broma: tuve que aprender a adjuntar fotos a correos electrónicos, incrustar cosas, usar Photoshop, ¡fue como volver a la universidad! OK, ¿ya has dejado de reírte?
Siempre le pedí ayuda a mi hija con conocimientos de informática y siempre fue lo suficientemente paciente como para hacerlo.
Así que aquí estoy, haciendo lo que amo.
Mi viaje es tan cerca como mi sala de estar, y tan lejos como mi estudio de la sala de trabajo (por la puerta trasera, más allá del gallinero, dar una mascota a Sweet Pea y Donkey, y subir un tramo de escaleras.
Viviendo mi sueño :)
I see creative possibilities in everything around me. I always ask myself "How can I use that item in another way"?
After I make something, I ask myself "How can I change it and make it different"? My daughter (yes that's her and my Mom in the picture over there...) anyway - she recently told me that she was glad she was creative - but really glad that she wasn't Driven to create - the way I am.
When I set up shop on Etsy (March 2008), I had NO clue what I was doing - other than my gut telling me I needed to find a larger audience for my work and goods.
Serendipity smiled on me in April when I had my first sale - a vintage handbag (Thank You Canada)(see my About page for my vintage shop: MissingHeirloom for a picture), AND I was contacted by Lark Books. I was smart enough to list my Recycled Envelopes card line on Earth Day and one of their editors contacted me. Would I do a 'How To' for their book "Pushing the Envelope"? No Joke - I had to learn how to attach photos to emails, embed stuff, use Photoshop, it was like going back to college! OK - have you stopped chuckling yet?
I was forever asking my computer literate daughter to help and she was always patient enough to do so.
So here I am - doing what I love.
My commute is as close as my living room, and as far away as my workroom studio (out the back door, up past the chicken coop, give a pet to Sweet Pea and Donkey, and up a flight of stairs.
