About Me
I'm an abstract expressionist painter with extremely picky taste in sunglasses. I started painting my own sunglasses during the great quarantine of 2020 and haven't worn anything else since. I call them Splatter Specs because I have to physically throw the paint at the glasses, using various instruments and techniques, to get the kinetic look and effect that makes them so special. These are not printed or computer generated effects: every pair of Splatter Specs is 100% unique and hand painted. In fact, it takes several days to create each pair of Splatter Specs. The most challenging part is either masking the lenses or removing them in preparation for painting. Then the frames are painted over the course of two to three days making sure that every nook and cranny has the right amount of color and coverage. The saddest part is that more paint is wasted than captured and that makes me a little sad as a painter. Ultimately, the acrylic paint gives them a soft and smooth quality which is very comfortable on the face and against your skin. Furthermore, Splatter Specs look and feel better in person! I hope you enjoy them and love them as much as I do. You can see my other work and learn more about me at www.BobbieLight.com
