When I use my CACHE I think about the person who gave it to Me.
Growing up my Father worked out of the country quite a bit and sometimes when he returned he would give us a small gift -- probably purchased at the airport gift shop! On one occasion he came home with three small leather exotic looking coin pouches that caught my eye and I eventually used them every day for many years. Every time I pulled the purse from my pocket I thought about my father, even years after he had passed. When the last of these items finally wore out I decided to make my own and share them with others who might want to have this same kind of feeling and memory.
It took me over a year to figure out the Brass Clasp aspect of the piece and I had never done very much sewing. Leather molding, airbrush dyeing and the careful assembly process that was required became a joy to learn and perfect.
Eventually CACHE was born. My design and version is a little bigger and sturdier than the ones I'd had before and I like the ruggedness of them now. There is something sensual about the combination of the smooth leather and the shiny brass. When I feel CACHE in my pocket and use it in a store there are fond memories and frequently a conversation ensues about it.
I've added personalized lettering and embossing to make each one unique. I'm now able to turn any image into a customized leather stamp to imprint on the front or back of each CACHE -- so it can really be just "Yours".
