Mi tía me enseñó a hacer ganchillo cuando tenía alrededor de 9 años. ¡Todavía estoy usando los ganchos de ganchillo de metal que me consiguió para Navidad a mediados de los 80!
A lo largo de los años, he hecho todo tipo de regalos y cosas para la casa, pero nunca pensé en vender nada. A finales de 2019, hice una muñeca Baby Yoda para mi esposo. Lo publicó en Instagram, ¡y media docena de personas le preguntaron cómo podían comprar uno! Vendí algunos y luego pensé que debería probar suerte en Etsy.
Desde entonces, he diseñado muchos artículos de ganchillo y he creado patrones para que otros puedan hacerlos también. Mi parte favorita es cuando la gente me envía una foto de algo y me pregunta si puedo recrearlo. Me encanta el desafío de crear algo nuevo a partir de una simple hebra de hilo.
En mi trabajo diario, soy consultor y entrenador de gestión del cambio, así que al idear el nombre de la tienda, decidí quedarme en la marca con Change Path Crochet. Pero ahora veo que tiene un significado más profundo: Cambia tu camino, cambia tu destino.
My aunt taught me how to crochet when I was around 9 years old. I'm still using the metal crochet hooks she got me for Christmas in the mid-80's!
Over the years, I've made all kinds of gifts and stuff for the house, but never really thought about selling anything. In late 2019, I made a Baby Yoda doll for my husband. He posted it on Instagram, and half a dozen people asked him how they could buy one! I sold a few and then thought I should try my hand at Etsy.
Since then, I've designed many crocheted items and created patterns so others can make them as well. My favorite part is when people send me a photo of something and ask if I can recreate it. I love the challenge of creating something new out of a simple strand of yarn.
In my day job, I'm a change management consultant and trainer, so when coming up with the shop name, I decided to stay on-brand with Change Path Crochet. But now I see that it has deeper meaning: Change your path, change your destination.
