Minha mãe me ensinou a fazer crochê quando eu tinha 8 anos, usando ganchos e fios encontrados enquanto limpava a casa da minha bisavó. Eu realmente não pegá-lo novamente até a faculdade, quando eu aprendi que um gancho e uma bola de fio eram o desessodor perfeito para mim. Minha colega de quarto e eu sairíamos da semana das finais com lindos cobertores novos!
Eu ainda faço cobertores hoje, agora principalmente para amigos e familiares comemorarem um evento. Agora eu prefiro fazer produtos que serão usados por pessoas todos os dias - em sua cozinha, banheiro, ou apenas ao redor da casa. Eu gosto da ideia de que o crochê pode ajudá-lo a viver um pouco mais ecológico em casa. O crochê pode ser funcional e bem como um belo ofício, e minha missão é criar produtos simples e brilhantes que possam ser usados repetidamente.
My mother taught me to crochet when I was 8, using hooks and yarn found while cleaning out my great-grandmother's house. I didn't really pick it up again until college, when I learned that a hook and a ball of yarn were the perfect de-stressor for me. My roommate and I would emerge from finals week with beautiful new blankets!
I still make blankets today, now mostly for friends and family to commemorate an event. Now I prefer to make products that will be used by people everyday - in their kitchen, bathroom, or just around the house. I like the idea that crochet can help you to live a bit more eco-friendly around the home. Crochet can be functional and well as a beautiful craft, and my mission is to create simple, bright products that can be used over and over again.
