I'm a puzzle-maker a little too obsessed with getting the details right. Every CrimeGrid case is written from scratch: a real cast of suspects, a trail of honest clues, and exactly one answer that holds up. No filler, no cheap "gotcha" endings, no unfair leaps.
Then comes the part most shops skip. Before anything goes on sale, every case is solved again from scratch by machine — reading the finished page exactly as you will, with no access to my answer key. If a single word is hidden twice, if an answer could be two things, if one letter of a hidden message is out of place, the file does not ship. The good kind of hard is a design decision. Unfair is a bug.
