Esta tienda cuenta con joyas artesanales únicas hechas a mano: collares, colgantes, pulseras, aretes y anillos, así como unidades flash portátiles. Me formé como diseñador industrial y trabajé durante muchos años en Brownlie Design desarrollando las formas y la ergonomía de una amplia variedad de productos. El diseño de joyas vino como una extensión natural en mi búsqueda de formas hermosas que se relacionan con el cuerpo humano. La orfebrería y el corte de piedra me permiten crear objetos que son únicos y útiles, y ha alimentado mi pasión por la forma y el color, la naturaleza y los materiales naturales. Busco elementos que sean inusuales y construyo el metal a su alrededor para expresar la singularidad del objeto y transformarlo en arte portátil.
Cuando un artista hace una pieza, el proceso de concebir la idea, la creación y la actualización, le da a la obra un alma, algo que la producción en masa no puede hacer. A su vez, el propietario añade qué sentimientos invoca la obra. Pienso en la joyería como una especie de talismán, algo que tiene un significado especial para el usuario. Esto puede estar representado en la piedra, las formas y las imágenes, u oculto en la forma en que guardan recuerdos de personas o eventos. Una de mis cosas favoritas para hacer es hacer piezas personalizadas a partir de piedras que la gente ha recogido en sus viajes.
También hago una línea de colgantes de unidad flash con paneles frontales de plata esculpida o piedra cortada. Me encargaron diseñar y producir la unidad flash para la película Max Winslow and the House of Secrets, estrenada en 2019.
Cuando no estoy creando, juego en el bosque. Mi amor por las montañas, los bosques, los ríos y la nieve alimenta mi alma e inspira mi trabajo. This shop features unique hand made artisan jewelry: necklaces, pendants, bracelets, earrings and rings, as well as wearable flash drives. I was trained as an industrial designer and worked for many years at Brownlie Design developing the forms and ergonomics of a wide variety of products. Jewelry design came as a natural extension in my quest for beautiful forms that relate to the human body. Silversmithing and stone cutting allows me to create objects that are unique as well as useful, and has fed my passion for form and color, nature and natural materials. I look for elements that are unusual and build the metal around them to express the uniqueness of object and transform it into wearable art.
When an artist makes a piece, the process of conceiving the idea, the creation and actualization, gives the work a soul, something that mass production can’t do. In turn, the owner adds what feelings are invoked by the work. I think of jewelry as a kind of talisman, something that has special meaning to the wearer. This may be represented in the stone, the forms and images, or hidden in the way they hold memories of people or events. One of my favorite things to do is make custom pieces from stones people have collected on their journeys.
I also make a line of flash drive pendants with sculpted silver or cut stone front panels. I was commissioned to design and produce the flash drive for the movie Max Winslow and the House of Secrets, released in 2019.
When I’m not creating, I play in the woods. My love of mountains and forests and rivers and snow feeds my soul and inspires my work. This shows in the forms and details I use, as well as my choices in materials, from stones I’ve collected, to the use of recycled items to lessen our impact on the planet.
