Because keeping a family running takes more than most people realize.
As a mother of four, I know just how many little details it takes to keep a household running smoothly.
Who needs to be picked up, when the cat gets fed, where the important documents are kept, which routines cannot be forgotten, and all those little things that somehow live in one person's head. In our family, that person is usually me.
I'm the go-to person. The one who knows where things are, what needs to happen next, and how everything fits together.
But one day, a simple question crossed my mind: *What if I wasn't there?
The thought came to me while watching one of my favorite TV series, *House*. It made me think about how much a family relies on the person who keeps everything organized — and how difficult it could be for everyone else if that person suddenly couldn't be there to help.
With my background in law, I understand the importance of planning for the future and protecting the people we love. Estate planning helps families prepare for important legal and financial matters, but I realized that there was another part of family preparedness that deserved attention: **the practical details of everyday life.
Who knows how the household actually runs? Where are the documents someone might need in an emergency? What needs to happen tomorrow morning? And how would another person know what to do without having to figure everything out from scratch?
These aren't always the first things we think about when planning for the unexpected. Yet they can make an enormous difference when life doesn't go according to plan.
Why I created Family Continuity Co.
Managing a family of six has taught me that organization isn't simply about keeping things tidy. It's about making life more manageable, reducing stress, and helping everyone know what they need to know.
It's also about being prepared. We cannot predict everything that life will bring, but we can take practical steps to make things easier for the people we love.
That's why I created the **Family Continuity Planner**: to help families bring important information, household routines, responsibilities, and essential details together in one organized place.
My hope is that it helps you put the things you know into a format that others can understand and use when they need it.
