Hello. My name is Haru (Igarashi). I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. At a very young age I was fascinated by the beauty of flowers. For many years I studied the art of flower arranging. I am trained and licensed to teach in the ancient art of Ikenobo. Ikenobo is the oldest and largest school of Ikebana, which is the Japanese art of flower arranging. I now live in N.Y. Today it isn't easy for me to practice Ikenobo because many of the floral pieces required aren't as readily available to me. This is particularly true for silk pieces. However, my love for flowers and the art of arranging is still very much alive. I enjoy creating pieces by using subtle Ikenobo influences combined with traditional arranging. Flower arranging has been a beloved hobby of mine throughout my entire life. I hope you will enjoy the pieces I share with you.
