We have something for everyone. The classics, Crystal lovers, the minimalist and the art obsessed. I guarantee that I have a piece that you will love and no, the jewelry doesn't make who you are. You make the jewelry. Only, you are the missing piece to our pieces 💛⭐️💎
We truly hand make and hand craft all of our pieces by hand using nothing but the highest quality and the best materials we can source while still maintaining affordability and never compromising on quality. We use a very special process when making and plating our jewelry. We offer all jewelry in sterling silver 925 and use platinum and rhodium to plate our silver pieces. For Gold pieces, We offer 14K Gold Vermeil Jewelry. All pieces will be marked with its appropriate stamping.
For Silver pieces, we use Sterling Silver 925. We then add a layer of fine silver over the sterling silver. This already adds a beautiful shiny durable layer. Next we use a layer of platinum and plate that over the silver and finally, we add rhodium plating to complete the silver piece. By using this method, we are creating a very precious and valuable piece that is going to truly shine and be insanely durable (Tarnish resistant) and will last you years to come.
What is Rhodium Plating? And why is it so valuable?
Rhodium is an extremely rare precious metal and a member of the platinum family. Rhodium is one of the six platinum group metals. It is the rarest of the family and the most expensive. Rhodium is silvery, white and also a corrosion resistant material. It is extremely shiny and reflects up to 80% of light. Rhodium gives off an incredible "scheen" In fact, it beats out gold and silver by a margin. Rhodium is harder than gold so it is highly durable and tarnish resistant. When I say it beats out gold I truly mean it! Currently, Rhodium is trading above US $10,000/oz, which makes it 5X more valuable than gold!
What is Gold Vermeil?
Simply put, Gold Vermeil is usually composed of a sterling silver base then a thick layer of gold is deposited on top of the sterling silver. This will give you a strong and amazing tarnish resistant piece you can wear daily and won't irritate your skin, and of course a more affordable alternative to solid gold.
What is Gold Filled?
Gold Filled jewelry is yet another beautiful and affordable alternative to Solid Gold. Gold Filled uses usually sterling silver or brass as the base metal and from there the gold is pressure heat bonded to the base layer.
The difference is essentially how the manufacturing of the two are processed.
Gold vermeil is usually processed by something called "electroplating" it is essentially "dipped" for a time in gold. Whereas Gold Filled jewelry is heat pressure bonded to the underlying base metal usually brass and or sterling silver and it is then "baked" on or fused together.
As for Gold Plating, Gold plating is a method of depositing a thin layer of gold onto the surface of another metal, most often copper or brass.
*Gold-plated jewelry is the catch-all term for a process in which a layer of gold is bonded to a base metal through an ionic bonding process. For jewelry to be considered gold-plated, the gold layer must be at least 0.5 microns thick (a micron is one millionth of a meter, for context).
* Gold-plated jewelry often uses cheap metals, like copper and brass, as the base metal, although sometimes sterling silver is also used. The oxidation process in copper and brass commonly leads to skin discoloration (turning your fingers green). Due to the thin layer of gold and generally less valuable core material, gold-plated jewelry is generally sold at a lower price than gold vermeil jewelry
Gold Plated pieces VS Gold Vermeil:
While gold plated jewelry and gold vermeil jewelry look the same on the outside, there are clear differences between the two that will have a huge impact on how long the products will last. This is very important to consider before choosing what to add to your collection so you don’t waste money. Gold plated pieces are also not regulated, so its important to note to do your research, Gold plated pieces can legally contain any karat and only 0.5% of gold needs to be in the piece that's being called "gold plated"
It is true we offer gold plated pieces, However our gold plated pieces are different. We will always use sterling silver 925 as the base metal and use 1 micron of gold in all our gold plated pieces. As we are are all about offering beautiful pieces at an affordable price while never compromising on quality (e.g. Avoiding cheap materials that usually cause allergens)
A note on why its important to avoid cheap metals!
**While they may all look the same there are key differences between all. Copper plated pieces will tarnish and usually turn your skin "green" and copper over time will develop a "green" patina over the piece. Another cheap option jewelers use is Brass and because brass is made up of copper and zinc to improve its quality, a minute amount of other metals, such as nickel and lead, is added to the mixture. This will in turn usually cause allergens and also might turn your skin green and tarnish down the road. So, you see many other sellers may offer their pieces for a cheaper price, but truth be told you get what you pay for. **
Now, you know the difference between what it means when buying from us vs them! I hope you enjoy your shopping experience here on Etsy and thank you for visiting my shop <3
