B*Intelligent
I have always enjoyed being challenged and learning new concepts and ideas, I like to experiment and find out how things work, always doing things for myself rather than as a bystander.
This curiosity has led me down a long and winding path, first into music (DJing and production) and now I am a bit older into creative design, metalworking, sculpture and jewellery.
By day I work in a fine art foundry (Milwyn) finishing bronze sculptures and by evening and weekend (when not looking after my children) I focus on my own pieces.
In a quest to make bigger and better things I have constructed my own 3D printer, CNC machine and vacuum chamber, these I use to make jewellery and sculpture from three dimensional designs I have created on my computer.
Sometimes I if I am in the mood I also make things the old fashioned way totally from scratch using no technology.
I am not running a proper shop like you would find on a high street rather I am an independent artist who enjoys the challenge of bringing mathematical forms to life and creating things from scratch.
Lots of my items are unique forms that rarely exist physically due to the complex nature of designing and producing them.
I believe that I am the first person to have ever made a batwing minimal surface from silver, and although you can now buy a nice one from somewhere like shapeways it is not the same thing as having something made in a shed buy a self taught artist using a DIY 3D printer, old plumbers blowtorch and tongs made out of an old coat hanger.
My designs may not be totally perfect but they sure are individual.
