Después de haber trabajado en la industria del lujo durante años, a menudo me encontraba pensando en la palabra "lujo" significaba para mí. Descubrí que lo que me traería felicidad sería vivir con mi familia en una casa rodeada de objetos y muebles para el hogar cuidadosamente diseñados y elaborados. Cada uno contaría una historia de un lugar en el que había estado, una persona que había conocido, o recordaría un momento o una fase de la vida de mi familia.
Si bien llenar mi casa con objetos significativos será un proceso de toda la vida, también anhelaba hacer objetos que se convirtieran en parte de las historias de otras familias, o tal vez con suerte se convirtieran en una reliquia familiar algún día. Con ese fin, cada edredón Lesser Bear está diseñado y hecho con cuidado y materiales de alta calidad como algodón 100%, lino y bateo natural. Lesser Bear quilts are handmade with care and the finest quality materials. As a fiber artist I seek to use a traditional craft technique to create art which celebrates the rich history of the skill and the modern aesthetic. I aim to make functional pieces which can be cherished in the household as both a work of art and eventually as a family heirloom imbued with the owner's own memories of use.
Having worked in the luxury industry for years, I often found myself thinking about the word 'luxury' meant to me. I found that what would bring me happiness would be to live with my family in a home surrounded by carefully designed and crafted objects and home furnishings. Each would tell a story of a place I had been, a person I had meet, or be reminiscent of a time or phase of my family's life.
While filling my house with meaningful objects will be a life long process, I also longed to make objects which would become part of other families' stories, or perhaps with luck become a family heirloom one day. To that end, each Lesser Bear quilt is designed and made with care and high quality materials such as 100% cotton, linen and natural batting. I hand quilt each Lesser Bear quilt to celebrate the rich tradition of quilting, and to bring a little extra bit of luxury to your home.
