Automotive Designer turns to her passion!
When I was little, I loved playing house with my sister — and I was always the one decorating! I’d sew tiny curtains or pillows to make everything look pretty. That creative streak, combined with a love of how things work, led me to study Automotive Design, encouraged by my father who saw both my artistic and mechanical sides.
During my years as an automotive designer, I always found time to sew — creating window treatments and bedding for my own home. Friends and family loved what I made and encouraged me to start a business, but my design career kept me busy. I worked with Ford Motor Company in Michigan and overseas in England and Germany, where I later started a family.
After my daughter was born, I stepped away from corporate life to stay home with her. My first window treatment client came soon after — my sister’s neighbor with a big house and lots of windows! From there, word of mouth spread, and I discovered how much joy I found in this work.
When my daughter was later diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, I chose to continue running my business from home so I could care for her while still doing what I love. Over time, my passion for sewing and design grew into a full-time career that perfectly fits my life.
Today, my daughter is thriving in her own engineering career, and I’m blessed to be creating custom window treatments for clients across the country. Every piece is thoughtfully designed, handcrafted, and made with the same love that started it all. 💛
