Welcome to Linen and Birds!
My name is Simona and my passion and superpower is sewing! For quite a long time I was creating and sewing backpacks from materials that made me overthink is it really something I want to work with? When my first child was born I went through a transformation that changed the way I look in the world and also my values, so slowly slowly I went from sewing leather to sewing linen and it felt so right!
Why Linen and Birds?
Besides sewing, passion for nature and its well being is very important to me. I wanted to create a bussiness that would apreciate recources and create products that could last and people would love and could have them for a very long time. Every detail of the garment is carefuly sewn and examined before wrapping and sending to a person.
Linen is one of the few fabrics that make less impact on our planet and also it is perfectly recyclable (also do not forget that Linen is known as the world's strongest natural fiber!) - I always encourage my customers to mend their garments instead of throwing away, or when the time comes to say goodbye - there are many ways to use linen! For example - to cut in squares and use it to wipe surfaces, you can also clean the floor with it or even make something new from it - a toy, a pillow - imagination is limitless :)
But also if Linen is looked after it is sure resilient! The garment from Linen could be passed from generation to generation with love and care.
It is also good for your skin - it is hypoallergenic, breathable, allows air to move around freely and thus, realeases moisture very fast.
One more benefit of Linen is that it is suitable for every season - being a lightweight, breathable and moisture-wicking fabric it is perfect for summer! But do not forget that all over the world people wear linen in autumn, winter and spring also because linen clothes will retain the heat from your body and release the excess making you feel nice and cosy.
Linen and Birds brand was created with intention to make garments that people could wear all year round and for a long time - created with passion and with love for sewing.
