It all started out because of a gift from a friend.
Hello,
My name is Dee Dickerson and I am Joslyn's mom. I am writing to you to give you a bit of background story on Joslyn's Etsy shop LizardLadybug.
When Joslyn was 9 years old our family moved across country from Oregon to Tennessee. Our dear friend Miss Deborah made Joslyn and her brother Joseph traveling pillowcases to use for the road trip. Miss Deborah took care to personalize the fabrics for each of their individual interests. These pillowcases have become treasured heirlooms and still are used for road trips today.
A few years later, Joslyn wanted to make pillowcases to be used for Christmas gifts for friends and family. My mother Maxine was a professional seamstress and taught my sisters and me to sew at a young age, so I was able to pass that skill on to Joslyn. She took care to choose fabrics for the specific individuals who received them.
Soon after that the church we attended wanted to get the young people involved with fund raising for a church mission, so they gave each of the children a small amount of seed money to get them started. Joslyn bought fabric for one pillowcase, sold it and bought fabric for two pillowcases, then sold them. This continued until she was able to donate well over $300 to the mission!
The pillowcases turned out so adorable that she wanted to make more to sell. Joslyn increased her inventory and sold her pillowcases at a crafters mall for a short time and then at a couple of craft fairs. One year when she returned home from college she decided to open her Etsy shop, LizardLadybug instead of finding a summer job.
Joslyn is somewhat of a perfectionist and is very conscientious about her crafting as reflected in her 5 star ratings. She wants to offer you a great quality product that will become a favorite personal item. So please come in and browse LizardLadybug for a one of a kind gift or maybe even a special pillowcase just for you!
