Loyalty Patch was always Brian's "patch idea" that started out back in 2018 when our oldest son sourced some military fatigues for a film project he wrote, cast, produced, filmed, directed, and starred in. He needed custom patches to use with his fictional military squad so he found a custom patch supplier that provided patch services to the military. All of the patches they used for the film were military hues of greens, browns, and black. Brian fell in love the the modularity of the hook & loop patches that they would switch on and off of the actor's uniforms. Brian bought himself an "operator" hat that had a 2x3 loop panel on the front and wore it every day on set. He bought himself a Georgia state flag hook & loop patch and that combo of hat and patch quickly became his go-to on every occasion. After the filming was over, Brian contacted the patch supplier and he asked if they could produce custom patches for him that were in full color as opposed to the subdued colors of the military patches. They replied with "we can produce anything you want - there are a million thread colors!" The light bulb went off in Brian's head. Our three kids were in two different schools - middle and elementary - but our oldest was about to be in high school. Wouldn't it be great to have just one favorite hat, but have different patches to wear to each of our kids' events?!? Wear the elementary patch to donuts with dad on Wednesday, wear the middle school patch to our daughter's game on Thursday night, and then wear the high school patch to the high school football game on Friday night. Brian even set his eyes on his favorite college team for Saturday and if the stars aligned, maybe he could get licensing for a professional team for Sundays! So the idea for "Loyalty Patch" was born. Mary knew they couldn't just sell hook & loop patches to people because most everyone who wasn't law enforcement or military doesn't know about the joy and excitement the ease of switching out hook & loop patches brings to the unaware. It was her idea to create a full line of custom hats and accessories that are made with a loop panel already sewn on them so they will automatically work with a hook patch. She is also the one who named our company "Loyalty Patch." We are still unclear on who came up with our tag line, "Where is your Loyalty?®" which has a dual meaning - who do you pull for? and - where do you put your [Loyalty] patch?
