I am a Fellow crocheter of the International Guild of Miniature Artisans, recognition that I got in 2015. I crochet miniature bears and animals, funny little dolls, but also bags, hats, shawls, blankets …
Making miniatures gives me joy and serendipity and it is a way to express myself, when I look at the expression of a tiny bear that I have made from a simple strand of yarn I think “it’s so me”!
And that’s magic!
Sometimes they come up with such a cute face that it is hard for me to part with them, so I put them into a “secret drawer” where I am sure they come alive at night and party together.
My inspiration comes from Mother Nature and from children books and illustrations that I loved so much as a child and that I still love as a “grown up”.
Since I can remember, I have always loved small, mini, miniature things, they are so fascinating!
A whole world in a tiny space! I think it is the charm of having something small that you can hide in a pocket or a purse, that made think of making my own little treasures and writing down the schemes and patterns to make them.
Over the time making miniatures and writing crochet patterns has become my main occupation.
I started to collaborate with miniature and crochet magazines and got my first published book in 2016. Now the books are eight and some of them have been translated in different languages and sold all over Europe.
