Cada pieza de bordado 'Oh Sew Bootiful' comienza su vida como un garabato en un bloc de bocetos, un montón de colores que me gustan, una cita con la que he conectado o una letra de canción que simplemente no puedo sacar de mi cabeza.
Después de explorar un poco las ideas con lápiz y papel, las muevo a Adobe Illustrator para asegurarme de que mis diseños sean los mejores y correctos.
Luego me puse a trabajar eligiendo los mejores colores para el trabajo y me puse a trabajar, cosiendo todas y cada una de las puntadas a mano para asegurarme de que estoy contento con la pieza final.
Luego convierto el diseño en un patrón descargable y lo imprimo en tela 100% algodón y castor para convertirlo en un kit de bordado para que pueda hacer su propio trabajo de arte (aro) en casa.
Trato de obtener los mejores materiales para hacer cada kit y dedico mucho tiempo a los toques finales para que cuando llegue su kit sea un placer abrirlo y usarlo.
Para mí, el bordado es una forma divertida y creativa de relajarse. Podría pasar horas cosiendo con una taza de té. Espero que el bordado pronto se convierta en el nuevo libro para colorear de la atención plena, ya que es muy relajante de hacer, centrando tu atención en los puntos, el patrón y los hilos.
¡Me emociono tanto cuando recibo los patrones de tela impresos para probar! Espero que sientas lo mismo cuando tu kit aterrice en la alfombra de la puerta.
Each piece of 'Oh Sew Bootiful' embroidery starts out life as a scribble in a sketchpad, a bunch of colours that I like, a quote that I’ve connected with or a song lyric that I just can’t get out of my head.
After a bit of exploring the ideas with pencil and paper I move them into Adobe Illustrator to ensure my designs are tip top and just right.
I then set to work picking out the best colours for the job and set to work, stitching each and every stitch by hand to make sure I am happy with the final piece.
I then turn the design into a downloadable pattern and get it printed on to 100% cotton fabric and beaver away to turn it into an embroidery kit so that you can make your very own work of (hoop) art at home.
I try to source the best materials to make each kit and spend lots of time on the finishing touches so that when your kit arrives its a joy to open and use.
To me, embroidery is such a fun and creative way to relax. I could spend hours stitching away with a cup of tea. I'm hoping embroidery will soon become the new colouring book of mindfulness as it's so relaxing to do, focusing your attention on the stitches, pattern and threads.
